QCU AND POLITEKNIK NEGERI JAKARTA STRENGTHEN TIES WITH NEW COLLABORATION PLANS
Quezon City University (QCU) and Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ) have reinforced their academic partnership through an online meeting on January 21, 2025 facilitated by QCU’s Research, Extension, Planning, and Linkages – Research Management Office (REPL-RMO); focusing on research collaboration, faculty and student exchange programs, and joint participation in international conferences.
The meeting was attended by key representatives from both institutions. Leading the discussions for QCU were Mr. Angelito Bautista Jr., Director of Research Management, and Dr. Ryan Arago, Dean of the College of Engineering, along with faculty chairs and members from various disciplines.
PNJ was represented by Dr. Indra Hermawan, Head of the Expertise Group in IoT and Networking, and several senior faculty members, including Mr. Iik Muhamad Malik Matin, Head of the Cybersecurity Lab, and Ms. Ratna Widya, International Office Coordinator.
The collaboration highlighted specific research initiatives, including IoT-based solutions for waste management, smart composting systems, and cybersecurity technologies. QCU finalized its faculty representatives for these projects, ensuring the integration of expertise across engineering and IT fields.
Faculty and student exchange programs were also a key focus. PNJ expressed its readiness to host QCU faculty for seminars and short courses beginning in July 2025, with reciprocal visits planned for PNJ faculty in 2026. For students, both institutions discussed short-term and semestral exchange opportunities, set to begin in September 2025.
The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration in international conferences. PNJ invited QCU to participate in the 9th International Conference of Computer and Informatic Engineering (IC2IE) as keynote speakers, reviewers, and co-hosts. The conference is slated for September 2025.
