QCU Joins Investiture of MPSU President and Explores Opportunities for Collaboration

Quezon City University (QCU) actively participated and explored potential partnerships with MPSU and other institutions during the two-day event celebrating the investiture of Dr. Edgar G. Cue as the first president of Mountain Province State University (MPSU), formerly Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, from January 16-17, 2025.

Representing QCU was Mr. Angelito Bautista Jr., Director, REPL-Research Management Office was who was invited as a distinguished guest to attend key activities, including the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between MPSU and the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE) for the Asian Graduate Studies Summit (A-GraSS) 2025 International Conference in Vietnam.

The event also provided a platform for QCU to engage with leaders from MPSU and other institutions to discuss potential areas for collaboration. During a sideline conversation with Dr. Epiphania B. Magwilang, MPSU’s Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Services, possible joint initiatives were identified, particularly in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Industrial Engineering, and Information Technology.

A highlight of the celebration is the unveiling of MPSU’s new logo and marker, symbolizing the university’s transformation and aspirations under the leadership of Dr. Cue, the President’s Night, and the Cultural Night graced by the presence of Dr. J. Prospero E. de Vera, III, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

On January 17, Mr. Bautista joined officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), state universities and colleges (SUCs), national line agencies, and local government units in witnessing Dr. Cue’s formal installation as MPSU’s president.

This was followed by a site visit at MPSU’s Montañosa Coffee Center in its Bauko Campus, which was highlighted by a symbolic coffee tree planting activity.
