Coun. Aly Medalla Graces ALCUCOA Level II Accreditation Visit Exit Conference
Coun. Julienne Alyson Rae “Aly” V. Medalla, on September 8, 2023, graced the exit conference of the Level II accreditation visit of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities – Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) at the QCU Auditorium, San Bartolome Campus, expressing her appreciation, on behalf of the Quezon City government, to ALCUCOA for helping carve the path for QCU to achieve its vision of becomingi the number one local university of employable graduates.
“The accreditation is an opportunity for the University to showcase its strengths and our desire to improve towards excellence, with the QCians in mind,” Coun. Aly said.
Dr. Bradford Antonio C. Martinez, Vice President for Academic Affairs, opened the event by emphasizing the crucial role played by each department in the successful conduct of the Level II Accreditation Visit.
“Today is a moment of celebration. We celebrate the countless hours of hardwork, collaboration, and innovation that have be done in this accreditation process. It is a reflection of our shared commitment to provide the best educational experience for our students,” Dr. Martinez stated.
The exit conference, which was participated by the administrative officials, faculty, non-teaching staff, and students from the colleges under accreditation, specifically the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, College of Engineering, and College of Computer Studies, completed the three-day ALCUCOA visit that started on September 6.
The four programs that underwent the Level II Accreditation visit were the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Entrepreneurship, BS Information Technology, BS Electronics Engineering, and BS Industrial Engineering.
Each program accreditor gave a brief impression of the accreditation process and all expressed gratitude to QCU for the warm welcome they extended to ALCUCOA during the visit.
Dr. Armando T. Laguinum, Supervising Accreditor and Accreditor for the BS Entrepreneurship Program, congratulated the University for the success of the accreditation. He also commended QCU’s extension program in the Quezon City Jail for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), who were given the chance to take and finish a two-year degree in BS in Entrepreneurship, as well as its programs for the out-of-school youth (OSY).
“What I can really tell you now is a huge congratulations!” Dr. Laguinum exclaimed.
VP Martinez then serenaded the guests and participants of the event with a special intermission number
Ms. Lalaine Josefa L. Carrao, OIC Dean of the College of Computer Studies, delivered the community response, thanking the accreditors and ALCUCO for their generosity during the whole accreditation process and for their commitment to quality education.
This was followed by a dance number of the Tanghalang QCU Dance Troupe and the presentation of certificates to the accreditors.
In her closing remarks, President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza also thanked the accreditation team of QCU led by Dr. Glenda Rebucas, the offices of the VP for Academic Affairs and Administration and Finance, College Deans, Faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and students for their hardwork and efforts in the accreditation
“The leadership should inspire you to see your potential. I saw the great potential in Quezon City University. To QCU – our students, our faculty, and our admin – mabuhay at maraming, maraming salamat sa pagtindig ninyo na may galing dito sa QCU,” Dr. Atienza ended.
