QCU Empowers ALS Learners with Digital Skills through Project CLiP
Quezon City University (QCU) conducted the Project Computer Literacy Program (CLiP) from March 23 to 27, 2026, at the QCU San Bartolome Campus, benefiting Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners from various schools in Quezon City, District 5.
The five-day initiative aimed to prepare participants for the upcoming 2026 ALS Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test by equipping them with essential digital competencies and practical technological skills.
Anchored on the principles of Digital Citizenship, the program featured a series of interactive discussions and hands-on activities, including computer troubleshooting, file management, and the use of Microsoft Office tools and applications.
Serving as a continuation of the lecture review sessions conducted in February 2026, the training strengthened the learners’ technical knowledge while promoting responsible and ethical use of technology. Participants actively engaged in exercises designed to build their confidence in utilizing digital tools for both academic and everyday applications.
During the opening ceremony, University President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza emphasized the importance of education as a pathway to personal and professional growth. She encouraged the ALS learners to stay committed to their goals and expressed her optimism in their ability to successfully pass the ALS A&E Test. Her message inspired participants to persevere and make the most of the learning opportunity provided by the program.
Project CLiP was implemented by the QCU Extension Management Office in partnership with the College of Computer Studies under the QCU SMILE Extension Program. The initiative highlights the University’s dedication to delivering inclusive, community-responsive, and impact-driven extension services. The success of the program was made possible through the voluntary efforts of faculty and staff, whose commitment to service continues to uplift and empower communities through education.
