QCU Strengthens International Academic Ties with PNJ
Quezon City University (QCU) strengthened its international academic linkages through an institutional visit to Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ) on June 26, 2026, exploring opportunities for collaboration in higher education, research, innovation, and internationalization. The QCU delegation, composed of Engr. Ryan F. Arago, Dr. Angela L. Arago, and Engr. Mary Anne B. Manandeg, was welcomed by PNJ officials and academic representatives from its Engineering, Information Technology, and International Office.
The visit provided a platform for both institutions to discuss potential collaboration in research, academic and student mobility, faculty exchange, public lectures, curriculum benchmarking, and community engagement. The institutions also explored preparations for the International Conference on Computer and Informatics Engineering (IC2IE) 2027, in partnership with PNJ’s Department of Computer and Informatics Engineering and other academic units.
The institutional discussions featured presentations on the university’s academic programs, research priorities, internationalization initiatives, and institutional directions. These exchanges helped identify common areas of interest and opportunities for collaboration in instruction, research, innovation, and community engagement.
A collaborative consultation and benchmarking session was also conducted with PNJ’s ICT Department, Engineering and Information Technology department heads, and representatives from other academic units. Discussions focused on multidisciplinary research, participation in I-RISE 2026, preparations for IC2IE 2027, and curriculum benchmarking.
The curriculum benchmarking activity allowed both institutions to exchange practices on academic structures, instructional approaches, program outcomes, and quality assurance, supporting continuous improvement and alignment with international standards.
For QCU, the visit provided an avenue to exchange best practices in engineering and computing education while exploring emerging developments in technology and innovation. It also strengthened opportunities for faculty members, researchers, and students to engage in international academic activities. The institutional visit forms part of QCU’s continuing internationalization efforts and commitment to building sustainable academic partnerships that advance research, innovation, knowledge exchange, and quality education across the ASEAN region.
