QCU Achieves Graduation Milestone with Economically Disadvantaged Students

SDG 1 4

Quezon City University (QCU) has demonstrated its commitment to educational inclusivity by setting and achieving graduation targets for students from the bottom 20% of household income groups. Through the Commission on Higher Education – Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST), QCU has provided financial support to economically disadvantaged students, ensuring they have the resources needed to complete their studies.

The success of these initiatives was evident during the 27th Commencement Exercises held on June 27, 2023, at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. The event celebrated the achievements of Batch “Pinagtibay,” comprising 2,121 graduates from various programs, including Entrepreneurship, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Accountancy.

These graduates were CHED-UniFAST beneficiaries, highlighting the effectiveness financial assistance in promoting academic success among students from low-income households. QCU’s partnership with CHED-UniFAST has been instrumental in providing tuition subsidies and stipends, alleviating financial burdens, and enabling students to focus on their education.

QCU remains dedicated to supporting economically disadvantaged students through comprehensive programs that include financial aid, academic mentoring, and career development services. By setting and meeting graduation targets for these students, QCU continues to foster an inclusive academic environment that empowers all learners to achieve their full potential.
