Quezon City University welcomed representatives from Sharon Farm, managed by Barangay Novaliches Proper on July 10, 2025 for an official visit at the QCU Center for Urban Agriculture and Innovation (CUAI) Demonstration Farm (recently recognized by the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) as a Learning Site for Agriculture I).

In attendance from Sharon Farm were Hon. Enrique P. Añonuevo, Barangay Kagawad and Committee Head on Environment, Climate Change Adaptation, and BDRRM; Hon. Cecilia M. Ramos, Barangay Kagawad and Committee Head on Gender and Development; and members of the Sharon Farm farmers’ community.

The delegation was personally welcomed and toured by QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, alongside representatives from the College of Engineering – BS Industrial Engineering Program and the REPL Extension Management Office.

Following the tour, a meeting was held with the Sharon Farm delegation to discuss the currently implemented Project GREENSPACE—a collaborative initiative of the BSIE Program designed to support sustainable practices in Sharon Farm and strengthen community resilience.

After the discussions at QCU, the College of Engineering – BS Industrial Engineering Program, led by College Dean Dr. Ryan F. Arago and Program Chairperson Dr. Jeffrey L. Cacho, visited Sharon Farm with the BSIE students to inspect the ongoing projects and assess their current conditions on the site.

This engagement reflects QCU’s continuing commitment to academic excellence, community partnership, and innovation in sustainable agriculture.
