Promoting Inclusivity: PDAO Conducts Disability and FSL Trainings at QCU
In line with its commitment to inclusivity and accessible education, Quezon City University (QCU) facilitated the participation of its staff in two important training programs conducted by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).
The Disability Awareness and Sensitivity Training (DAST) was held on March 21, 2025 (Friday), followed by a Basic Filipino Sign Language (FSL) Training on March 24 to 26, 2025 (Monday to Wednesday) with selected representatives from various administrative and academic departments in attendance.
The DAST session aimed to enhance awareness and empathy toward the experiences of persons with disabilities (PWDs), while equipping participants with the knowledge needed to foster a more inclusive and accessible campus environment.
Meanwhile, the FSL training introduced participants to the fundamentals of Filipino Sign Language, improving their ability to communicate with individuals who have hearing and speech impairments.
These efforts reflect QCU’s ongoing mission to uphold equal access to education and information, ensuring that no one is left behind.
