QCU Produces its First 19 Female PDL Graduates at Camp Karingal, Quezon City
19 persons deprived of liberty (PDL) from Quezon City Jail Female Dormitory (QCJFM) graduated with a college degree of Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship from Quezon City University (QCU) through the Quezon City Local Government Unit (QCLGU) project, “No Woman Left Behind” on September 28, 2024 at Camp Karingal, Quezon City.
Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Margarita N. Gutierrez and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the event, by delivering the commencement address and inspirational message consecutively.
The graduates were presented by Dr. Gerardo T. Bautista, Dean of College of Business Administration and Accountancy, whereas, QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza led the conferment of degree.
The graduates will have the opportunity to benefit from the QCLGUs Pangkabuhayan Assistance Program which could help them start a small business, given that they are trained to do so.
Among the 19 graduates, one is convicted, six are already released and 12 are still detained with on-going trial.
