QCU Joins 1st Launch of MAKI+Fiesta of QCU LGU
As part of the celebration of the 85th anniversary of Quezon City Government, MAKI Fiesta is the first media festival of QC held last 23-24 August 2024 at UP Gimenez Theatre, Gallery and Aldaba Hall to underscore the pivotal role of free expression, democracy and creative economy.
Participated by students and office representatives of Quezon City University (QCU), this event provides a great avenue to strengthen its public information unit to create relevant content, disseminate accurate and factual information, and establish sustainable initiatives and programs to continuously adapt to the growing demands of modern times.
The main themes of the festival includes Free Expression and Democracy, Creative Economy, Technology and Innovation, Collaborative Creativity, and
Ethics and Responsibility. This is to highlight that the progress of society and economy are affected by creativity and democratic values.
During the two-day event, prominent personalities were invited to host sessions. Some of these personalities are Quezon City Administrator Mike Alimurung, Mr. Atom Araullo, Ms. Kara David, Atty. Chel Diokno, Mr. Dingdong Dantes, Ms. Che Che Lazaro and many more. Their talks and presentations are centralized on sharing knowledge to the youth in terms of creating contents that are factual, adaptive and responsive.
This festival was organized by Quezon City Government, in partnership with the University of the Philippines Diliman, International Media Support, Probe Productions, FYT Media, and PumaPodcast.
