Mayor Joy Belmonte Receives ALCUCOA Level II Accreditation of QCU’s Flagship Programs

Quezon City University’s (QCU) Entrepreneurship, Information Technology, and Industrial Engineering programs were granted Level II Accreditation from the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) during the second day of its 16^th  National Conference held on October 3, 2023, at the Manila Hotel.

No less than the Hon. Mayor Josefina “Joy” G. Belmonte, Chair of the QCU Board of Regents,  accepted the certificates on behalf of QCU. She was joined by Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, QCU President, Dr. Bradford Antonio C. Martinez, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and other officials of the University.

The Certificates of Accreditation, which were awarded by ALCUCOA’s President and Executive Director, Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega and the members of the ALCUCOA Board of Trustees, proved that the three programs were found to be in accordance of ALCUCOA standards, and was issued as a result of the evaluation made by the Accreditors who visited QCU. The results were verified by the Technology Review Board Committee, with the approval of the ALCUCOA Board of Directors and confirmation of the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA).

The Level II Accreditation visit, which was held from September 6 to 8, 2023, included document review and validation with interviews of the University officials and accreditation point persons, classroom observations, a campus tour, a stakeholders’ conference, and a site tour for the community extension programs.

QCU is also expecting the results of accreditation on the BS Electronics Engineering program.

The 16^th ALCUCOA National Conference with the theme “The Future of Quality Assurance in Philippine Higher Education” was a two-day event held from October 2 to 3, 2023 that gathers more than 48 local colleges and universities in the country to discuss the critical role of quality assurance in ensuring that higher education institutions (HEIs) provide students with high-quality education that meets the needs of the industry and of the society.
