QCU, QCGU, and BCRD Advance Good Governance Through Data Privacy and Evidence-Based Leadership
The Quezon City Local Government Unit (QCLGU), in partnership with Quezon City University (QCU) and the Barangay and Community Relations Department (BCRD), successfully conducted the third session of the Speaker Feliciano R. Belmonte Jr. School of Good Governance Certificate Courses on Evidence-Based Policy and Decision Making and Public Finance on June 13, 2026.
The session featured Atty. Joseph D. Delos Santos, who led a discussion on “Evidence-Based Policy and Decision-Making: Data Privacy,” emphasizing the importance of protecting sensitive information while leveraging data to guide public policy and governance. The discussion highlighted the need to ensure that decision-making processes remain both effective and ethically grounded through responsible data management practices.
Building on these principles, QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza facilitated a session on Evidence-Based Policy and Decision Making, reinforcing the value of data-driven governance and strategic leadership in developing responsive and accountable public policies.
Participants from barangays across Quezon City engaged in meaningful discussions that strengthened their understanding of responsible data utilization, transparency, and ethical governance. The session underscored the importance of balancing innovation in public administration with the protection of citizens’ rights and trust.
This continuing initiative reflects the strong collaboration among the Quezon City Local Government, QCU, and BCRD in empowering local leaders with the knowledge, tools, and ethical frameworks necessary to navigate contemporary governance challenges.
Through sustained learning and institutional partnership, Quezon City continues to strengthen evidence-based leadership and promote governance founded on integrity, accountability, and informed decision-making.
