Sen. Imee Marcos Leads the Distribution of DSWD Cash Aid to 2,000 QCU Students

Senator Imee Marcos led the distribution of financial assistance to 2,000 students of Quezon City University on Wednesday, November 29, 2023,

The cash distribution is part of the aid program implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which aims to provide assistance to individuals in crisis situations (AICS).

Educational cash assistance under the DSWD AICS program is a supplemental grant given to help defray school-related expenses such as tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, school supplies, and transportation allowances.

In a short message she delivered to the recipients at the QCU Gymnasium, Marcos said she felt the sentiments of the vulnerable sector of society, especially college students in the country.

Marcos also donated ten desktop computers to selected student organizations at QCU to empower them as they engage in various academic and extracurricular pursuits.

On behalf of the students and the QCU administration, Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, QCU President, thanked the senator and the DSWD for facilitating the distribution of the financial assistance.

Local officials of the QC Government, including District 2 Coun. Julienne Alyson Rae V. Medalla, District 5 Coun. Ram Medalla, and Brgy. San Bartolome Chairperson Rizza Pascual were also present to witness the distribution.
