SDG3 11 13

Quezon City University (QCU) reaffirmed its commitment to campus safety and disaster preparedness through its active participation in the Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026, demonstrating the university community’s shared responsibility in building a culture of resilience and readiness.

Conducted as part of the nationwide initiative to strengthen disaster awareness and emergency response capabilities, the activity engaged members of the QCU community in practicing essential earthquake safety procedures and coordinated evacuation protocols.

Through the observance of the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” method and organized movement toward designated safe areas, participants reinforced critical preparedness measures designed to minimize risks and enhance emergency response during seismic events.

More than a routine exercise, the earthquake drill served as a reminder that preparedness is a collective responsibility and an essential component of protecting lives and sustaining a safe learning environment.

QCU continues to uphold proactive disaster risk reduction practices by promoting awareness, strengthening institutional readiness, and encouraging the community to remain informed and prepared—not only during scheduled drills but in everyday life.

Through initiatives such as the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, QCU demonstrates that resilience is built through action, discipline, and unity, ensuring that the university community remains ready to respond and overcome challenges together.
