Quezon City University (QCU)  and the Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) held a crucial coordination meeting to discuss the development of advanced training modules under the Barangay Newly Elected Officials (BNEO) program at the DILG-NCR Matino Room in North Avenue, Quezon City, on February 27, 2025.

Attending on behalf of DILG-NCR were Dennis R. De Paz, Section Chief of the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), Luigi D.C. Pilarta, Acting Division Chief of LGCDD, and Ma. Pamela G. Ferino, Local Government Operations Officer, Local Government Capability Development Division.

Representing QCU were Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, University President; Angelito Bautista Jr., Director for the Research Management Office; Candice Erika Rudi, Publications Unit Chief; and Jodi Pilar, Executive Assistant to the President.

The meeting centered on strategies for completing the BNEO advanced modules, ensuring that the training materials are not only comprehensive but also responsive to the unique governance challenges faced by barangay officials in Metro Manila.

This initiative builds upon the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between DILG-NCR and the Quezon City Government on November 11, 2024, which formalized their shared commitment to enhancing the leadership and governance skills of barangay officials.
