SDG 2 9 17

Researchers from Quezon City University (QCU) participated in the Virtual Pre-Engagement Meeting for the 2026 DOST-PCAARRD Call for Proposals on March 9, 2026, via Zoom. Representing the University were Asst. Prof. Redentor G. Bucaling Jr., Program Chair of the Information Technology Department; Prof. Lalaine Josefa Carrao, faculty member of the College of Computer Studies; and Mr. Angelito P. Bautista Jr., Director of the Research Management Office.

Organized by the Metro Manila Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research, Development and Extension Consortium (MetroMAARRDEC), the pre-engagement meeting provided participating institutions with an opportunity to present five-minute capsule proposals for potential funding under the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD). The session also enabled researchers to receive technical feedback from evaluators to help strengthen their proposals and ensure alignment with PCAARRD’s research priorities and funding requirements.

Through the presentation and consultation process, the QCU team gained valuable recommendations to further refine their proposed research initiatives before formal submission. The activity also fostered collaboration among member institutions while reinforcing the University’s commitment to producing competitive, impact-driven research that addresses national priorities in agriculture, aquatic resources, natural resources, and sustainable development.

QCU’s participation in the pre-engagement meeting reflects its continuing efforts to strengthen its research portfolio, expand external funding opportunities, and contribute innovative solutions to the country’s priority development challenges.
