QCU Explores Establishment of DOST Innovation Hub with DOST-NCR (Online)
Representatives from the Department of Science and Technology–National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) had a meeting with Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, Quezon City University (QCU) President, on April 22, 2026, to discuss the proposed establishment of a DOST Innovation Hub (iHub) at the University.
The meeting was attended by Engr. Lota M. Paras; Mr. Deuvyn C. Bautista, Science Research Specialist II of the DOST-NCR PAMAMAZON CASTO; Ms. Blaise D. Mansueto, RFT, Senior Science Research Specialist of the DOST-NCR PAMAMAZON CASTO; and Mr. Angelito P. Bautista Jr., Director of QCU’s Research Management Office.
Discussions focused on the requirements, implementation framework, and opportunities associated with establishing an Innovation Hub within the University. The proposed iHub is envisioned to serve as a collaborative space that fosters research, technology development, innovation, and entrepreneurship by connecting students, faculty researchers, industry partners, startups, and government agencies.
The initiative also explored how the Innovation Hub could strengthen QCU’s innovation ecosystem by supporting technology commercialization, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of solutions that address community and industry needs.
