QCU Joins PCAARRD R&D Consortium as Founding Member
Quezon City University (QCU) proudly joins the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research Development (PCAARRD) Consortium in National Capital Region (NCR) as a founding member—and the only Local University among seven pioneering HEIs in the region, alongside key national agencies.
The ceremonial signing of the Letter of Intent took place during the soft launch of the NCR Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Rersources (AANR) Consortium, part of the NCR Innovation and Technology Transfer Summit 2025, on June 23, 2025, at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City, organized by the Department of Science and Technology-NCR (DOST-NCR).
Signing on behalf of QCU is Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, University President, witnessed by Mr. Angelito Bautista Jr., Director, REPL-Research Management Office.
This milestone affirms QCU’s commitment to advancing research and innovation in agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources for sustainable national development.
Among the signatories were: Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), DOST- Industrial Technology Development Institute, DOST- Food and Nutrition Research Institute, DOST-Metals Industry Research and Development Center, Laguna Lake Development Authority, Adamson University, Colegio de Muntinlupa, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Technological Institute of the Philippines, Technological University of the Philippines, and the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, Manila.
This Consortium opens new doors for science-driven environment and natural resources development in the Metro—proving that innovation thrives to impact the environment even in the busiest corners of the country.
