SDG 4 9 17

Quezon City University (QCU) successfully held the QCU Robotics Seminar on September 17, 2025, with the theme “Building Teacher Capacity to Incorporate STEM, Robotics, and Computer Science into Your Classroom.”

The seminar featured Mr. Andy Lee of VEX Robotics as the resource person and was attended by representatives from the Schools Division Office, the Philippine Military Academy, and QCU faculty members.

Designed to equip educators with the tools and knowledge to effectively integrate robotics and computer science into their classrooms, the seminar highlighted the importance of hands-on training, standards-aligned curriculum, and the VEX Robotics Continuum as an ecosystem of support for teachers.

Key insights shared during the session included:

  • Strategies to strengthen teacher capacity in robotics integration.
  • Practical approaches to using robotics for computational thinking and design-based learning.
  • Preparing educators to develop future-ready skills among students.

The event concluded with closing remarks from QCU President, Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, who underscored the importance of exchanging ideas and best practices, while reaffirming the University’s commitment to empowering faculty members and partner institutions in advancing STEM and robotics education.
