QCU Honored at ICONS Awards 2024, Recognized as CHED-NCR’s New Global Star
Quezon City University (QCU) received prestigious recognition at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2024, held on October 25, 2024, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.
QCU was honored for its notable inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024, achieving a remarkable 1501+ ranking. This distinction underscores the university’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and its meaningful contribution to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Organized by CHED through the International Affairs Service (IAS), the ICONS Awards celebrate Philippine Higher Education Institutions’ (PHEIs) exceptional achievements in internationalization, sustainability and regional impact.
This year’s awards highlighted institutions demonstrating excellence in global rankings and high-impact initiatives driving nation-building and sustainable development. QCU’s recognition solidifies its position among top global institutions dedicated to positively impacting society and the environment.
Furthermore, CHED-National Capital Region conferred the esteemed “New Global Star” award upon QCU, acknowledging its rapid ascent in international stature and growing influence within the global academic community.
