QCU Champions Inclusive Education at OSY Fairyahan, Empowering Out-of-School Youth in Barangay Bagong Silangan

SDG 4 8 10 17

Quezon City University (QCU) reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive education and community empowerment through its active participation in the OSY Fairyahan held on April 27, 2026, at the Barangay Bagong Silangan Evacuation Center. The event, organized by Angat Kabataan-Pilipinas – Barangay Bagong Silangan in partnership with the Quezon City Youth Development Office, brought together various local government offices to extend opportunities for out-of-school youth (OSY) in the community.

The OSY Fairyahan served as a dynamic platform aimed at connecting young individuals to pathways in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. By fostering collaboration among stakeholders, the initiative addressed the pressing need to re-engage OSY and provide them with accessible avenues for personal growth and development.

Representing QCU in the event were Kampus Ambassadors Reigne Silva and Jeiazel Lazaro, alongside Mr. Lenard F. Bien, Acting Director of the Extension Management Office, and Ms. Rozi Mae A. Broqueza. The QCU delegation actively engaged with participants, sharing valuable information about the university’s academic offerings and extension programs designed to support youth empowerment and lifelong learning.

Through its continued involvement in community-based initiatives such as the OSY Fairyahan, QCU strengthens its role as a proactive partner in nation-building. The university remains steadfast in its mission to make quality education more inclusive and accessible, while cultivating meaningful partnerships that uplift communities and create sustainable opportunities for the youth.
