i-Rise 2024 at QCU: Shaping Future Ready Education through Innovation and Sustainability

On Novermber 28, 2024 held the International Research and Innovation for Sustainable Education (i-RISE) Hybrid Conference 2024 at Quezon City University (QCU) Auditorium.

The event, themed “EDUKTRENDS: Empowering Future-Ready Education through Innovation and Sustainable Practices,” was a platform for educators, researchers, policymakers, and students to share ideas and present research that addresses pressing global educational challenges.

Organized by QCU in partnership with the Asia Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE), and supported by international collaborators such as Politeknik Piksi Ganesha (Indonesia), this conference was endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The hybrid format allowed participants from across the Philippines and abroad to engage in meaningful discussions on aligning education with innovation and sustainability, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).

The keynote address of  Dr. H.K. Prihartono AH, Drs., S.Sos., S.Kom. (Director, Politeknik Piksi Ganesha, Indonesia) underscored the importance of global collaboration and innovation in shaping education systems that meet 21st-century demands.

QCU formalized partnerships with key institutions, including Taguig City University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Laguna State Polytechnic University, and Universidade Estadual de Alagoas (UNEAL), further strengthening its research and academic network.

Faculty members from State University of Alagoas (UNEAL) shared insights into education innovations and sustainability practices in Brazil.

During the round-table discussion, it addressed the challenges and proposed strategies to advance sustainable education practices in pre-service education; the panelists include Dr. Carl E. Balita (Dr. Carl E. Balita Review Center), Ms. Rochelle A. Jimenez (CHED-NCR), Teacher Ana Liza D. Teodoro (ANA PH) and Dr. Theresita V. Atienza (QCU President).

On parallel research presentations, researchers presented their studies in fields such as education, technology, and innovation, providing diverse perspectives on tackling modern educational challenges.
