QCU-COE Conducts Fire Prevention and Safety Seminar

Quezon City University (QCU) College of Engineering (COE) in partnership with San Bartolome Fire Station, conducted a Fire Prevention and Safety Seminar for QCians on September 6, 2024 at QCU Gymnasium.

SPO3 Fire Officer Manuel Onod, the resource speaker, shared basic knowledge and information about fire disasters and harmful chemicals in his interactive talk with the audience.

“Fire disasters happen because of human error and if there’s a fire accident it can also beprevented,” said QCU President, Dr. Theresita V. Atienza during her message at the event. She also discussed the proper usage of fire extinguishers, as well as the new facilities and
equipment of the university.

The acronym, “PASS,” which means Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep was recited during the event as a way for students to remember the correct usage of fire extinguishers.
