QCU Hosts Consultation on Strengthening Volunteerism in Water Sector
Quezon City University (QCU) hosted the Orientation and Consultation on Strengthening Volunteerism in the Water Sector at the QCU Library, bringing together representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, civil society organizations, volunteer groups, and other partner organizations.
The activity introduced the ongoing Research on Volunteerism in the Water Sector and provided stakeholders with a platform to share their experiences, insights, and recommendations on current practices, challenges, opportunities, and potential areas for collaboration.
Participants from Far Eastern University Manila, Bulacan State University, Kabalikat Civicom, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Bayanihan QC, and other partner organizations took part in the consultation.
The discussions will contribute to the study and help inform recommendations on strengthening volunteerism in support of water conservation, community participation, and effective water governance.
The consultation also underscored the importance of collaboration among government, academe, civil society, volunteer organizations, and communities in addressing water related concerns and promoting sustainable and participatory water management.
