QCU College of Engineering Prepares Students for Capstone Innovation
Quezon City University (QCU) College of Engineering successfully conducted its Capstone Orientation on August 14, 2026, at the QCU Auditorium, gathering engineering students, faculty members, and academic leaders for the formal launch of the academic year’s capstone program.
Led by QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, she delivered the opening message and inspired students to approach their capstone projects with excellence, innovation, and a commitment to addressing real world challenges through engineering solutions. Dr. Atienza emphasized the vital role of research, creativity, and collaboration in shaping future engineers who can contribute meaningfully to society and nation building.
The orientation provided students with essential guidelines, expectations, and requirements for the Capstone Program. Faculty advisers discussed project development processes, timelines, evaluation criteria, and best practices to ensure students are well-equipped for their culminating academic undertaking.
The event also featured Engr. Raniel Taripe, who discussed Capstone Development, providing students with key insights into project planning, execution, and successful completion. Engr. Crystalynne Cortez presented the Intellectual Property System, emphasizing the importance of
protecting innovations and understanding intellectual property rights. Meanwhile, Dr. Angela L. Arago delivered an engaging discussion on connecting innovation with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), encouraging students to develop solutions that create meaningful social and environmental impact.
The activity underscores the College of Engineering’s commitment to nurturing competent, innovative, and industry ready professionals. Through the Capstone Program, students are encouraged to apply their academic knowledge to develop practical solutions that address the needs of communities and industries.
