The Quezon City Government, in partnership with Quezon City University (QCU) and the Barangay and Community Relations Department (BCRD), conducted another session of the Speaker Feliciano R. Belmonte Jr. School of Good Governance Certificate Course on Public Finance on July 25, 2026, in Quezon City.

The session, centered on “Finance: Introduction to Public Finance (National and Local Context),” equipped participants with a deeper understanding of fiscal management and its role in strengthening public institutions, supporting inclusive development, and improving public service.

The morning session, led by Prof. Angelito Niño C. Verzosa, Jr., provided foundational insights into public finance principles and frameworks in the national and local government context. In the afternoon, Ms. Chollim May T. Vocal discussed fiscal responsibility, resource management, transparency, and accountability in public service.

The discussions highlighted how responsible financial management contributes to responsive leadership, sustainable development, and citizen centered public administration. Participants gained practical insights into the importance of transparency and accountability in managing public resources and delivering effective government services.

The session forms part of the continuing efforts of the Speaker Feliciano R. Belmonte Jr. School of Good Governance to develop capable, ethical, and people-centered public service leaders. Through education and capacity building, the program equips public servants and community leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to address the evolving demands of governance.

The continued partnership among the Quezon City Government, QCU, and BCRD underscores a shared commitment to strengthening public institutions and fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and responsible stewardship in public service.
