QCU Explores Research Partnership with SHAPE Asia to Support Healthy Food Retail Initiative (Online)
Quezon City University (QCU) and SHAPE Asia held an exploratory meeting via Zoom on May 22, 2026, to discuss potential research collaboration in support of the Quezon City Government’s Healthy Food Retail Initiative.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Elaine Q. Borazon, Associate Professor and Project Lead of SHAPE Asia at National Sun Yat-sen University; Ethan Sabacan, Research Associate at SHAPE Asia; Mr. Angelito P. Bautista Jr., Director of QCU’s Research Management Office; and Ms. Candice Erika Rudi, Chief of the Publications Unit.
Discussions centered on opportunities for collaborative research that would contribute to evidence-based policies and programs promoting healthier food environments in Quezon City. The participants also explored potential avenues for student engagement in future research activities, providing experiential learning opportunities while supporting community-based public health initiatives.
The meeting served as an initial step toward establishing a strategic partnership between QCU and SHAPE Asia, with both institutions identifying shared research interests and opportunities for collaboration in advancing nutrition, public health, and sustainable urban food systems through research and innovation.
