QCU Industrial Engineering Program Empowers Urban Farmers through Workplace Organization and Safety Seminar

The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) Program of Quezon City University (QCU), in partnership with Extension Management Office (EMO), successfully conducted a Professional Extension Services (PES) seminar titled “Workplace Organization and Safety Practices for Sustainable Urban Farming” on September 15, 2025.

The training was led by Engr. Rodolfo Salinas and Engr. Joel Raborar as resource speakers, with active support from BSIE students and members of the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers – Operations Research Society of the Philippines QCU Student Chapter, who assisted in facilitating the sessions.

Participants included members of the Sharon Farm Urban Farmers Association and Barangay Novaliches Proper personnel, who took part in interactive discussions and hands-on learning activities focused on safety practices, workplace organization, and sustainability in urban farming.

This professional extension initiative underscores QCU’s commitment to community empowerment and applied learning, bridging academic expertise with real-world applications. Through programs like this, the university continues to advance its mission of promoting knowledge sharing, student engagement, and sustainable urban development that uplifts local communities.
