QCU Joins ASEAN Youth AI Literacy Champions Project Through Partnership with ASEAN Youth Organization

Quezon City University (QCU) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO) to strengthen collaboration under the ASEAN Youth AI Literacy Champions (AYALC) project on July 21, 2025 at the QCU Main Campus, marking a significant step in advancing AI literacy among the youth in the region.

The AYALC project is part of the AI Ready ASEAN initiative, spearheaded by AYO in partnership with the ASEAN Foundation and Google.org. It aims to equip young people with essential knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence while promoting responsible and ethical digital practices.

Present at the ceremony were QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Randel D. Estacio, Dean of the College of Engineering Dr. Ryan F. Arago, and Mr. Lenard F. Bien, Acting Director of the Extension Management Office. Also in attendance were the Program Chairpersons of the College of Computer Studies: Mr. Redentor G. Bucaling (Information Technology), Mr. Christian Escoto (Computer Science), and Ms. Paula Joy Dela Cruz (Information Systems), who also serves as one of the university’s Master Trainers for the AYALC Program. She was joined by her fellow Master Trainer, Ms. Angela Arago, faculty member and QCU’s Sustainability and Internationalization Officer.

Leading the delegation from the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO) was its esteemed Founder, Mr. Senjaya Mulia, joined by Dr. Mark Unlu-cay, Partnership Director; Ms. Amie Apolinario, Engagement Officer; and Ms. Lejay Ann Abrigar, Program and Business Development Officer.

The partnership reflects QCU’s continued commitment to providing innovative, globally relevant learning opportunities to its students, preparing them to become responsible and empowered leaders in an AI-driven world.
