2,000 QCU Students Get P5,000 Cash Aid from DSWD

Two thousand qualified students of Quezon City University (QCU) received P5,000 in cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on November 29, 2023.

The event which was held at the QCU Gymnasium, San Bartolome Main Campus, was graced by Sen. Imee Marcos, who facilitated the distribution of the financial assistance.

QCU officials led by President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza were also present during the opening program. QC Mayor Josefina G. Belmonte was represented by Coun. Ram Medalla of District 5 and Coun. Julienne Alyson Rae V. Medalla of District 2.

The cash distribution is part of the aid program implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which aims to provide assistance to individuals in crisis situations (AICS).

Educational cash assistance under the DSWD AICS program is a supplemental grant given to help defray school-related expenses such as tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, school supplies, and transportation allowances.
