Rising Stronger Together: QCU Commemorates 32 Years of Academic Excellence and Leadership

SDG 4

Quezon City University is set to commemorate its 32nd year of academic excellence and leadership from March 2 to 7, 2026, through a week-long celebration that reflects its enduring commitment to quality education, innovation, and community empowerment. Guided by the theme #1QCU We Rise, Stronger Together, the celebration will bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners in a vibrant showcase of unity, achievement, and institutional pride.

The celebration will open with a Thanksgiving Mass at the QCU Auditorium, offering the university community a meaningful opportunity to reflect on its journey and express gratitude for the milestones achieved over the years. This will be followed by a parade and flag ceremony at the open grounds, symbolizing the unity, resilience, and shared aspirations that continue to define the QCU community.

One of the major highlights of the celebration will be the official ribbon-cutting of the University Week Bazaar, which will feature student-led entrepreneurial booths, interactive exhibits, and creative displays. The bazaar is expected to promote innovation, collaboration, and student engagement while showcasing the creativity and enterprise of the university’s academic community.

Academic excellence will take center stage through various competitions, including the ECE Quiz Bee, CpE Programming Skills Competition, IE Feasibility Wars, and the Accountancy Race Booth. These activities will provide students with opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, analytical skills, and teamwork. The OR FEST Seminar Workshop and the Library Spoken Poetry event will further enrich the celebration by encouraging intellectual exchange and creative expression.

A key highlight of the week will be the Convocation on March 3, which will feature Hon. Mayor Ma. Josefina “Joy” Belmonte as the guest speaker. Her presence underscores the strong partnership between the university and the local government and is expected to inspire the academic community as QCU continues to strengthen its role in developing future leaders and professionals.

Innovation and inclusivity will also be emphasized through the Robotics Display and Fun Games, which will offer hands-on experiences in emerging technologies. The Gender and Development (GAD) Interactive Exhibit and Information Display will promote awareness, respect, and inclusivity, reinforcing the university’s commitment to fostering a socially responsive and inclusive academic environment.

In addition, wellness services and sports competitions such as volleyball, pickleball, chess, and E-sports will encourage holistic well-being, teamwork, and school spirit. Traditional Filipino games under Palarong Lahi will also be featured, strengthening cultural appreciation and fostering a deeper sense of community among participants.

As QCU marks its 32nd year, the celebration will serve not only as a tribute to its rich history and achievements but also as a reflection of its continued growth and vision for the future. Through unity, innovation, and shared purpose, the QCU community will come together to embody the true spirit of the theme—rising stronger, together.
