Rekindling Hope Through Learning: QCU, Barangay Sauyo Wrap Up Karunungan on Wheels with Post-Assessment Milestone
To mark the completion of Karunungan on Wheels (A-KOW: Ang Simula), a Post-Assessment was held on July 11, 2025, at the 135 Covered Court in Barangay Sauyo. This concluding activity provided a meaningful opportunity for the project team to revisit the learning journey of the participating children and reflect on the impact of the program.
Children who underwent the post-assessment were grouped into BINHI (ages 4–5) and PUNLA (ages 6–7). Using the same assessment tools from the program’s onset, facilitators were able to objectively measure developmental progress in literacy, cognition, and socio-emotional growth.
Adding depth to the initiative was the involvement of Quezon City University’s (QCU) administrative personnel, who volunteered as teachers. Their commitment beyond official duties highlighted the university’s culture of service and its belief in education as a powerful tool for transformation.
An initiative of Barangay Sauyo in partnership with QCU’s Extension Management Office and the College of Education, Karunungan on Wheels served as a mobile learning hub for early childhood education. As the project concludes, it leaves a lasting legacy—strengthened community ties, empowered families, and a renewed commitment to accessible, inclusive learning.
