QCU’s InnoEssentials Shines at QC StartUp Student Competition

Innovation meets purpose as Quezon City University’s (QCU) InnoEssentials, Inc. a student-led team earns Gold Award for health-conscious, sustainable product.

QCU Industrial Engineering students  led InnoEssentials, Inc., at the QC StartUp Student Competition 2025, where the team emerged as one of the Gold Awardees among more than two dozen innovative entries from top universities and institutions.

The team behind InnoEssentials, Inc. developed “DiaStirr”—a product specially designed for diabetic individuals. The name “DiaStirr” combines “Dia” (Diabetic) and “Stirr” (Stirring), capturing the product’s purpose: to aid in healthy beverage preparation through controlled stirring, promoting wellness and convenience. InnoEssentials, Inc. aspires to revolutionize daily essentials through innovative, health-conscious, and eco-friendly solutions.

The QCU team members are:

  • Bim Yla M. Bayaga

They were mentored by Dr. Aura Marie Novesteras, whose guidance helped sharpen the product’s viability and alignment with the competition’s goals.

The QC StartUp Contest is an annual innovation and entrepreneurship competition spearheaded by the Quezon City Government, designed to empower young innovators in developing solutions that address real-world challenges. The competition fosters a culture of innovation and social responsibility, encouraging the youth to explore viable, scalable, and sustainable business ideas that contribute to inclusive growth and community development.
