SDG3 16

Quezon City University (QCU) conducted “Q-See You at Home: A Family Peace Education Special Session” on September 25, 2026, via Zoom, in celebration of the 34th National Family Week and Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.

QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza opened the session with a message emphasizing the family’s role in developing values and nurturing peaceful relationships. She highlighted how peace can be practiced through meaningful communication and everyday interactions at home.

The session featured Prof. Dr. Federico V. Niduasa, Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Institute for Peace and President of the International Research Center for Global Peace and Harmony, Inc., who discussed family peace, communication, respect, understanding, and strengthening relationships among family members.

The discussion also highlighted parent-led education and the importance of spending meaningful time together as a family. Shared meals were emphasized as opportunities for family members to communicate, listen, reconnect, and build stronger relationships, reflecting the message of Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.

The activity also forms part of QCU’s continuing engagement with the Family Peace Association – Philippine Chapter (FPA) in developing collaborative initiatives focused on peace education and family-centered peacebuilding. Through the session, QCU reinforced the importance of building peaceful relationships at home as a foundation for stronger and more harmonious communities.
