QCU Empowers Future Innovators Through IP and Patent Search Training Workshop

SDG 4 8 9 17

Quezon City University (QCU), through its Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) in partnership with the College of Business, successfully conducted a three-day Foundation Course on Intellectual Property (IP) and Patent Search Training Workshop from March 9 to 11 at the IK603 IT Laboratory.

A total of 55 first-year General Managers of Enterprises enrolled in the Innovation Management course participated in the program. The training aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of intellectual property fundamentals while enhancing their practical skills in conducting patent searches—an essential component in developing innovative and competitive business ideas.

The sessions were facilitated by Ms. Jessica Sintos-Pagulayan and Ms. Maria Aura C. Impang, who provided comprehensive discussions on IP rights and the critical role of patents in protecting innovations. Participants also engaged in hands-on activities that allowed them to explore patent databases, equipping them with the tools needed to support the development of original and viable enterprise concepts.

This initiative underscores QCU’s continued commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, promoting intellectual property awareness, and nurturing research-driven entrepreneurship among its students.

Building innovators. Protecting ideas. Shaping the future.
