In a move to strengthen community disaster preparedness, the Quezon City University (QCU) College of Engineering held an exploratory meeting with Barangay Novaliches Proper to discuss the proposed installation of a solar-powered siren system.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ryan F. Arago, along with selected faculty members from the College of Engineering and was warmly welcomed by Hon. Enrique Anonuevo and Hon. Cecille Ramos. The meeting itself was held in coordination with Barangay Novaliches Proper led by Barangay Captain Hon. Asuncion M. Visaya, focusing on the installation of a solar-powered early warning siren system to enhance the community’s disaster risk preparedness and response capabilities.

The initiative is part of QCU’s broader mission to engage with local government units in the development of sustainable, community-based, and technology-driven solutions. Through projects like this, the university aims to apply engineering expertise to address real-world challenges and promote public safety at the grassroots level.
