QCU and Barangay Talipapa Forge Partnership for Sustainable Community Development

Quezon City University continues to strengthen its commitment to community partnerships with the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Barangay Talipapa, held last July 30, 2025, at the QCU Main Campus.

QCU was represented by Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, University President, alongside Dr. Randel D. Estacio, OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the deans of the University’s academic colleges: Dr. Ryan F. Arago, Dr. Gerardo T. Bautista, Dr. Glenda A. Rebucas, and Dr. Isagani M. Tano. Also present were Mr. Romel O. Sevilla, Director of the Center for Urban Agriculture and Innovation, and Mr. Lenard F. Bien, Acting Director of the Extension Management Office.

From Barangay Talipapa, Hon. Atty. Eric R. Juan, Barangay Captain, led the delegation, joined by Hon. Ma. Denielly Solano, SK Chairperson, Mr. Gil Balaoro, and Ms. Laurence April Leuterio.

After the ceremonial signing, the Barangay Talipapa delegates visited the CUAI Demo Farm for a guided tour, highlighting the University’s innovative approach to urban agriculture and its practical benefits for community development.

The partnership between QCU and Barangay Talipapa is expected to continue opening new opportunities for service learning, community extension initiatives, and sustainable community projects—grounded in mutual respect and shared purpose.
