Bgy. Sauyo’s  Karunungan on Wheels: Bringing Learning Closer to Every Child

SDG 1 4 9 11 17

In a bold step towards accessible and inclusive education, Barangay Sauyo officially rolled out its newest community initiative, Karunungan on Wheels on April 25, 2025.

This pioneering mobile learning project is designed to reach the youth of Sauyo, especially those who face barriers to traditional education, by bringing essential learning resources and support directly to their neighborhoods.

Launched just in time to assist students preparing for the upcoming academic year, Karunungan on Wheels reflects the barangay’s enduring commitment to uphold the right of every Sauyo child to quality education. The program aims not only to assist students with academic readiness but also to foster a culture of lifelong learning within the community.

The mobile learning hub is equipped with books, learning modules, digital devices, and interactive materials, allowing children and even adults to engage in various educational activities. The project also features volunteer tutors and facilitators who will guide the learners, making the experience both enriching and interactive.

Quezon City University (QCU), a long-standing advocate of community-centered initiatives, expressed its strong support for Karunungan on Wheels by partnering with Barangay Sauyo. The university will provide technical support, volunteer educators, and additional learning materials to ensure the success of the program.

Barangay officials highlighted that Karunungan on Wheels is more than just a mobile library — it is a symbol of hope, resilience, and the community’s shared responsibility to nurture its youth. By extending education beyond the four walls of the classroom, Sauyo is setting an example for other communities to follow.
