Quezon City University Celebrates 30th Foundation Anniversary with Week-long Festivities
Quezon City, Philippines – March 1, 2024 – Quezon City University (QCU) proudly announces the start of its 30th Foundation Anniversary celebrations, themed “30 Years of Education for Empowerment: Transforming Communities for Sustainable Futures.” This event will be marked by a week-long series of activities from March 1 to 8, 2024, showcasing the university’s commitment to excellence, service, and sustainability.
The festivities will kick off on March 1st designed to honor QCU’s rich history and exciting future. The schedule for the day includes:
1, Thanksgiving Mass (7:30 AM) to be presided by Rev. Fr. Daniel Allan Samonte
2. Parade and Review (9:00 AM)with Guest of Honor, Hon. Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte, City Mayor and Chair of the QCU Board of Regents
3. Blessing of New Academic Building and Urban Farm and University Convocation: Following the parade, at 9:30 AM, there will be a solemn ceremony to bless QCU’s New Academic Building and the Urban Farm (funded by the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute) to be followed by the speech of Mayor Joy Belmonte and special guests from national agencies, local government agencies, and the private sector.
4. Launch of the University Academic Contest (2:00 PM)
Throughout the week, QCU will continue to host a variety of events, including University Academic Contests, Academic Exhibits, Intramurals, cultural showcases, community outreach initiatives, and more, all centered around the theme of education for empowerment and sustainable development.
