QCU Promotes Family Peace Through “Peace Begins at Home” Wall
Quezon City University (QCU) student leaders led the “Peace Begins at Home Wall: A QCU Family Peace Reflection Wall” on September 25, 2026, at the Lobby of the New Academic Building, QCU Main Campus, in celebration of the 34th National Family Week and Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.
The initiative was led by the QCU Supreme Student Council (QCU SSC) and QCU Kampus Ambassadors (QCU KA) in collaboration with the Student Affairs and Services Department (SASD) and the REPL Extension Management Office (EMO).
QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza opened the activity with a message emphasizing the importance of nurturing peace within families. She also shared the first reflection on the Peace Wall, encouraging students to take part in the initiative.
Throughout the day, student leaders invited their fellow QCUians to complete the statement “Peace begins at home when…” and share their reflections on the wall. Responses highlighted simple acts such as respect, understanding, communication, love, and spending meaningful time together as ways of strengthening peaceful family relationships.
The activity also complemented QCU’s continuing engagement with the Family Peace Association – Philippine Chapter (FPA) in promoting family-centered peace education and creating opportunities for young people to participate in peacebuilding.
Through the student-led initiative, QCU highlighted the role of young people in promoting a culture of peace, beginning within their families and extending to the University and the wider community.
