‘QCU Rising’ Takes the Spotlight at QC LGU Flag Ceremony
Quezon City University (QCU) reaffirmed its growing role as a transformative institution in public higher education as QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza presented the university’s milestones and future directions during the Quezon City Government Flag Ceremony.
Anchored on the theme “QCU Rising,” the presentation highlighted the university’s continuing journey toward academic excellence, innovation, sustainability, and international recognition—reflecting its commitment to delivering accessible and quality education for every Quezon City learner.
From its beginnings with only five academic programs and 6,000 students, QCU has evolved into a dynamic institution now serving nearly 12,500 enrollees and achieving Level III accreditations across key programs. This growth embodies the university’s enduring mission of opening pathways to success through education, captured in its guiding principle: “Mula access, hanggang sumakses.”
President Atienza underscored that QCU’s progress has been made possible through the sustained support of the Quezon City Government, whose education-centered initiatives continue to strengthen access and student mobility, including the implementation of programs such as the QC Libreng Sakay Program.
The presentation also showcased QCU’s expanding portfolio of accomplishments, including the introduction of new graduate programs, recognition in sustainability initiatives through projects such as Joy is a Farm, strengthened international collaborations, the development of innovation ecosystems in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the growing global presence of QCU student innovators and robotics teams.
As the university advances its strategic agenda, QCU remains steadfast in its vision of becoming an internationally recognized university that nurtures innovation, promotes sustainability, and creates inclusive opportunities for learners.
