QCU Seals Academic Partnership with UPLB Through MoU and Learning Exposure
Quezon City University (QCU) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) formalized an academic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 16 February 2026 at the UPLB Office of the Chancellor Executive Conference Room.
The collaboration, facilitated under the DOST–NRCP RDLead Program, aims to strengthen cooperation in research, extension, and capacity-building initiatives, with emphasis on sustainability, food security, and community-based development.
The MoU was signed by QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza and UPLB Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs Atty. Eric Paul D. Peralta, representing Chancellor Jose D. Camacho Jr., and was witnessed by QCU RDLeader Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez, representatives from DOST–NRCP, UPLB officials, and QCU faculty and staff.
Following the signing, QCU faculty and staff from the National Service Training Program (NSTP) and the Center for Urban Agriculture and Innovation (CUAI) participated in an institutional learning exposure at UPLB. The visit included tours of key facilities on climate-resilient agriculture, organic farming, crop protection, plant breeding, genetic resource conservation, and dairy production.
Insights gained from the activity will inform QCU’s ongoing efforts to enhance experiential learning, sustainable agriculture initiatives, and community-based programs aligned with the University’s development agenda.
