In celebration of National Children’s Month, Quezon City University successfully conducted the Little KOWders learning session on 19 November 2025 at the 3rd Floor, Barangay Hall, Barangay Sauyo.

A total of 15 early learners participated in this fun, game-based introduction to coding, using child-friendly activities that sparked creativity, problem-solving, and digital curiosity.

The activity was conducted in partnership with Barangay Sauyo as part of the Karunungan on Wheels initiative and aligned with the AI-Ready ASEAN Program in partnership with the ASEAN Youth Organization.

Selected BSIT students from QCU’s League of Excellence Students in Information Technology also served as facilitators, strengthening student involvement in community extension.

The learning session was led by Mr. Lenard F. Bien, QCU Acting Director of the Extension Management Office and one of the QCU Master Trainers for AI-Ready ASEAN in the Philippines, who facilitated the activities through the Hour of Code and Code.org platform.

The project team was led by Ms. Maria Lourdes D. Pariñas of the QCU Extension Management Office, ensuring a smooth and meaningful learning experience for all participants.

Hon. Donna Lyza Sabinorio and Hon. SK Ara Jane Barrientos also graced the event with a heartfelt message, highlighting the importance of early digital literacy and encouraging young learners to embrace technology as a tool for learning and empowerment.

Together, we continue to bring learning closer to the community.
