Future of Research: Clarivate’s Dr. Bourghida speaks at I-RISE 2025

Quezon City University (QCU), in partnership with the Asia Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators, Inc. (APCORE), proudly hosted Dr. Ahmed Bourghida, Regional Lead for Research & Analytics for Academics & Governments (South East Asia & India) at Clarivate Singapore, as part of the plenary lineup of the International Research and Innovation for Sustainable Education (I-RISE) 2025 Hybrid Conference.
Dr. Bourghida’s plenary talk titled “The Future of Web of Science in the Age of AI,” focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping research ecosystems and redefining scholarly impact. He began by engaging the audience with a discussion on popular research browsers and platforms such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science, highlighting the critical role these tools play in academic research.
During his session, Dr. Bourghida presented the history of Web of Science and guided participants through a live demonstration of how to navigate the platform effectively. He also showcased the platform’s latest AI features, emphasizing the integration of responsible AI principles in research. Additionally, he discussed the journal evaluation process, offering insights into how scholarly works are assessed and indexed in global databases.
