Reading Together, Connecting Together: CCS’ Community Outreach

SDG 4 10 17

On October 16, 2025, the Quezon City University (QCU) College of Computer Studies (CCS) conducted events, “Give IT a Book” led by the League of Excellent Students of Information Technology (LESIT) and the CCS Alumni Talk 2025, led by the Synergy of Young Visionary Students of Information Systems (SYVSIS).

The “Give IT a Book” initiative encouraged BSIT students to donate educational and inspirational books to the QCU Library Resource Center. A total of 50 books were gathered through this effort — 10 donated by QCU President Theresita V. Atienza, 10 from CCS Dean Dr. Isagani M. Tano, and 30 contributed by the students.

The turnover ceremony, held at the QCU Auditorium, was led by CCS Dean Dr. Isagani M. Tano and Library Resource Center Director Ms. Edlyn O. Aquino, who both lauded the students’ generosity and commitment to sharing knowledge.

In the afternoon, the CCS Alumni Talk 2025 gathered CCS alumni to share insights and career experiences with current students. President Atienza highlighted the university’s strong graduate employment rate and urged students to remain purpose-driven.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates, group photos, and the singing of the QCU Hymn. Both activities reflected the CCS community’s dedication to learning, service, and unity.
