QCU Strengthens Youth Entrepreneurship Through Project BYOB Training Program

SDG 1 4 8 10 17

The Quezon City University (QCU) successfully conducted the Project Be Your Own Boss (BYOB): QC Youth Entrepreneurship Program on October 20–23, 2025, culminating in the Business Plan Presentation and Awarding Ceremony held last October 27, 2025, at Ardenhills Suite, Quezon City.

Now on its 3rd year and 4th batch, Project BYOB continues to empower Out-of-School Youth (OSY) by equipping them with essential knowledge, practical skills, and entrepreneurial confidence needed to start and sustain their own business ventures. A total of 40 youth participants from Quezon City completed the intensive four-day training program.

The initiative is conducted in partnership with the Quezon City Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (SBCDPO) and forms part of QCU’s University-wide Extension Program, under the QCU SMILE Extension Program. It is jointly implemented through the REPL Extension Management Office, together with the BS Accountancy (BSA), BS Entrepreneurship (BSENT), and BS Information Technology (BSIT) programs.

Project implementation was led by Ms. Rozi Mae A. Broqueza (Project Team Leader) and Mr. Alfred Cesar Quinsay(Assistant Project Team Leader). Training sessions were facilitated by QCU faculty members, administrative personnel, volunteers from JPIA-QCU, selected student-enterprise general managers, and QCU alumni. Among the trainers were:
Ms. Rozi Mae A. Broqueza, Mr. Lenard Bien, Mr. Roy Jones Laurente, Mr. Benjamin Molinar, Ms. Jennifer Cervania, Mr. Francisco Pagtalunan Jr., Mr. Alfred Cesar Quinsay, and Mr. Reginald Espiritu.

Through Project BYOB, QCU continues to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of the youth, helping transform their ideas into opportunities and their aspirations into sustainable livelihood pathways—strengthening their role as active contributors to local economic development.
