VEX U Kicks Off New Season at the Robotics Academy Conference in QCU

SDG 4 9 17

Robotics Academy Conference and Workshop second day was held on August 30, 2025 at Quezon City University (QCU) and focused on learning and collaboration. The event was attended by Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, President of QCU, together with delegates from different universities across the Philippines. The conference aimed to exchange knowledge and strengthen innovation in robotics.

“VEX U Push Back: New Season Kickoff & Briefing” was presented by Mr. William Law, Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) Asia Pacific Regional Sales Manager. He shared updates on the upcoming VEX Robotics season and discussed strategies that schools can use to prepare for international competition.

After the briefing, participants joined simultaneous workshop sessions led by robotics teams from universities that have represented the Philippines in the VEX Worlds Championship:

  • Colegio de Muntinlupa facilitated “Building a Robotics Team” and discussed ways to organize and sustain student groups.
  • Quezon City University led “Robot Design and Building” where participants learned both technical concepts and practical applications.
  • Pampanga State Agricultural University conducted “Robot Programming” which introduced coding skills needed for robotics development.

The workshops gave participants technical knowledge and practical experience that they can apply to their own schools and teams.

The day ended with participants bringing home new ideas and skills to strengthen their robotics programs. Many are expected to apply what they learned as they prepare for upcoming VEX Robotics competitions, where Filipino teams continue to represent the country on the global stage.
