Team Canophex Brings Pride to QCU as Grand Winners of QC InnoHub’s Search for Young Innovators

SDG 4 9 13 15

Quezon City University (QCU) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Team Canophex, a group of engineering students who emerged as Grand Winners at the QC InnoHub: The Search for Young Innovators—a competition that recognizes promising solutions to real-world challenges through creativity, research, and technology.

Team Canophex impressed the judges with their innovative solar-powered drone designed for reforestation, a project that highlights the intersection of engineering excellence, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development. The drone is envisioned to support large-scale tree-planting efforts by efficiently dispersing seeds in hard-to-reach and degraded areas, offering a forward-looking solution to climate and environmental challenges.

Guided by their adviser, Engr. Crystallyne D. Cortez, the team demonstrated exceptional collaboration, technical competence, and a strong commitment to social and environmental impact. Their success reflects QCU’s dedication to nurturing student-led innovation that contributes meaningfully to community development and sustainability.

This remarkable accomplishment not only brings pride to the university but also underscores the vital role of young innovators in shaping a greener and more resilient future. QCU congratulates Team Canophex and their adviser for this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to their continued contributions to innovation and nation-building.
