SDG 4 11 17

QUEZON CITY – Quezon City University (QCU) and Artisté Museum formally sealed a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen arts, culture, and community-centered learning.

The MOU was signed by QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza and FDr. Anthony V. Gedang, EnvM, President and CEO of Artisté Museum and the AV Gedang Foundation. The ceremonial signing was witnessed by key partners, including veteran Filipino actor, comedian, and director Mr. Leo Martinez, and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Quezon City (PCCI-QC) President Anne Marie B. Francisco.

In her message, Dr. Atienza affirmed QCU’s commitment to making culture part of learning and community building, noting that “the arts are not an add-on to education – they are part of how we form engaged, creative, and socially responsible citizens.

A key initial activity under the partnership was the “Doon Po sa Amin” Workshop, organized by Mr. Martinez and fellow mentors, which was attended by QCU faculty, students and community partners, including QC Ladies Foundation. The workshop featured the practical session “Paano Gumawa ng Short Video Gamit ang Aking Cellphone,” which aims to develop videolantés, along with other learning segments to strengthen creativity, storytelling, and communication skills.

To support the rollout of this initiative, the AV Gedang Foundation and PCCI-QC committed to sponsoring the workshop related activities, reinforcing a shared goal of expanding access to meaningful, skills-based cultural education.

On his part, FDr. Gedang emphasized the transformative value of collaboration in making arts and culture more accessible as essential pillars of education – creating spaces where creativity flourishes, heritage is preserved and innovation is encouraged. Artisté Museum committed to provide professionally curated exhibition content and themes and supply museum-grade display systems, interpretive texts and educational materials.

The MOU signing was also witnessed by Dr. Isagani M. Tano, OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Angelito P. Bautista, Jr., Director of the Research Management Office; and other officials, students and representatives from QCU and partner institutions.
