Abuyog Community College Benchmarks Best Practices at QCU
Quezon City University (QCU) welcomed officials and representatives from Abuyog Community College in Abuyog, Leyte for a benchmarking visit aimed at strengthening institutional partnerships and promoting the exchange of best practices in higher education.
Leading the ACC delegation were Hon. Lemuel Gin K. Traya, Municipal Mayor of Abuyog and Executive Chairman of the Abuyog Community College Board of Trustees, and Hon. Erwin V. Belleza, Sangguniang Bayan Member and Member of the Board of Trustees, together with college administrators, faculty representatives, and student achievers.
The delegation was received by Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, President of Quezon City University, along with members of the University’s academic and administrative leadership.
The benchmarking visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange insights on academic governance, curriculum development, faculty and student support services, research and extension initiatives, community engagement, and institutional management. Discussions also highlighted strategies that contribute to quality education and responsive higher education programs.
During the program, Quezon City University presented its key initiatives and accomplishments in academic quality assurance, research and extension, industry partnerships, and student centered learning. These best practices demonstrated the University’s continuing efforts to provide accessible, relevant, and innovative education while strengthening its role in community development.
Mayor Traya emphasized the value of benchmarking in driving institutional growth, noting that learning from established institutions such as Quezon City University will help enhance Abuyog Community College’s programs, policies, and services for the benefit of its students and stakeholders.
In her message, Dr. Atienza thanked the delegation for choosing Quezon City University as its benchmarking partner. She underscored the importance of collaboration among higher education institutions, emphasizing that the sharing of knowledge and best practices fosters continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in public education.
The visit concluded with both institutions expressing their commitment to strengthening academic partnerships, pursuing future collaborative initiatives, and continuing the exchange of innovative practices that contribute to the advancement of higher education and community development.
